It seems like my set up cannot reliably tell when tuners are available. While it happened occasionally on 2.6.2, it's been a lot worse on 3.1.1. I'm getting a lot of failed recordings lately and from what I can decipher in the log files NPVR cannot locate an available tuner. Tonight it failed to record a number of shows despite tuners being available (on 2250 card).

I'm not sure if it's related, but it never shows any conflicts in the Recordings menu either, even when there are conflicts. I confirmed this last week when three recording were scheduled, all on separate frequencies. The Conflicts screen still showed no conflicts.

Logs attached.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. The wife POF is on the rise....

Thanks,
-Brad

Try this patch: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post466634

This is true, there is no conflict reporting at this stage (other than when you first schedule the recording). I put in a placeholder screen, but never got around to going back and finishing it (and no one's been demanding it, so it's 'low priority'). This isn t the cause of your problem here though.

In this case, you've got a device that's failing to start due to being tied up with a EPG related issue, hopefully fixed by the patch above.

Quote:2013-11-07 17:59:00.086 [DEBUG][13] Failed to start recording on allocated device (59936Big Grin:\Video_HD\The Big Bang Theory\The Big Bang Theory_20131107_18001830.ts): 'Device failed to start'

Given you're in North America, you could also go and set the EPG Source to 'None' on those channels that are currently set to 'DVB/ATSC EPG', since you're not going to be getting useful listings from there anyway.
