Have you tried restarting the recording service? Or rebooting? Post the logs if none of these helps.

I rebooted and opened it up several times. Is there another way of restarting the recording service ?

You can right-click the tray icon and select "Restart recording service", but that will probably not help more that rebooting. Zip and post your log directory so we can see why the recording service does not respond. BTW: are Nrecord.exe, NextPVR.exe and NDigitalHost.exe allowed through the firewall?

I uninstalled nxtpvr and reinstalled it. still doesn't work. Question how come I didn't have to rescan the channels after doing that ?

Either your 'NPVR Recording Service' service isn't running, or you've got firewall software getting in the way of the communication.

If it's not running, like it's crashed, then hopefully the nrecord.log file would tell us why it has crashed.

why do you keep uninstalling and reinstalling NextPVR? that doesn't do anything.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct

I haven't changed my Firewall, It stopped working after I Reinstalled WinTV with the Batch file.
