There's a socket error at the end of the server NRecord log, quite possibly related to the client NPVR log having ended abruptly three minutes earlier. One of the client NPVR logs in post #5 also ended abruptly. In both cases, the last entry was DoCompositeRendering. You have DirectX errors on both client and server that Current Patch 6 would probably fix. Are there possibly any outdated plugins installed on the client that you were using with version 2.6.2?
How long is live tv taking to start? In the logs it looks like it's taking an exceedingly long time, and that means when the app first goes to renew it's lease it's already been too long, so the app has freed up the device.

No, its not to do with that. It doesn't need the two PCs time to anywhere near the same.
@Sub: Live TV takes a long time to start: over 50 seconds before any sound or video is seen or heard on the client machine.
@Zeb: I don't believe I have any any plugins on the client. On the server I use vidimport.exe in an external program, but that is not a plugin (i don't think).
@Johnsonx42: I will synchronize both clocks to make sure.
OK something interesting which may or may not have anything to do with the problem I'm experiencing.
In an earlier post Johnsonx42 pointed out a time differential between the two machines. So, while streaming live TV on the client, I used the Windows utility ( the ubiquitous one in lower right hand corner) to set and synchronize the clock (on the server) and immediately, the stream on the client stopped and displayed the error message ("the tuner you were using was required...)"!
I have since set and synchronized the clocks on both machines but the problem still remains.

This is ultimately what is leading to your problem, but it's not clear to me where your setup is spending most of that time. It looks like the client is taking a long time to get a stream from the server, but it looks like the server isn't taking anywhere near as long to deliver that stream.
In the client's settings, have you used the name or ip address of the server? I'm guessing it's either to do with name resolution, or firewall/antivirus software somehow slowing the connection
