But you don't get a html page back? Is it a stream .... with or without sid?

It'll stream you png or jpg, with the appropriate mime type, or return you a 404 error if no icon could be found for the requested channel. (ie, the same as if you'd made a request for an image file, like for example http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/twitter/imag...normal.png)

You should supply the sid too.

NEWA Web Services provides pretty much all NextPVR functionality and it is documented through wsdl.

we're working on it. it will soon be in the web client so that you can manage it from the web interface, and of course watch directly from there. from there once it's in our rest api, other clients will implement it based on their own schedules.

we have pages built now to view data in our web client.... no ability to execute operations yet but that's coming next.

This will be pretty cool because our users will be able to manage everything from a web browser, and the layout responds to different screen sizes.

Once we release as part of the web client, our other ui developers will jump on it as well for their apps.

Does mb3 leave the playback mime type player selection to the browser?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean but we encode on the server to the format that the browser asks for. We use an html5 video tag with sources for mp4, webm, and m3u8 (apple's HLS), and the browser decides which one it wants. So what that means is our server will have to take your stream, and then manipulate it further, either by encoding or just a simple remuxing. We already do this sort of thing when streaming remote content from the internet. Clients don't generally stream directly from the source, they run it through mb3 server. (Although we pass all of the information we have down to the client so that they can stream directly from the source if they're able to).
