I've deleted all the attachments off the web server for this thread....
Attached latest logs.

In the web server log I only see one time in the last 2 1/2 days that SearchLite might have called it (and that could have been when you used the browser to Invoke it) was Friday night.

2013-12-13 22:06:35.548 [DEBUG][23] Got Web Request (127.0.0.1): /public/services/SearchService.asmx/getChannelListObject

That particular NPVR.log also doesn't show you trying to connect with SearchLite or submit a search. I'd like you to restart the recording service when you can and try again. Maybe post a screen shot too so I can pinpoint the time in the logs.

Hi Martin

Just completed a searchlite search
22 seconds to 'NEWA may not be started'
latest log files and a screen dump from the search.

Thanks I saw something new. Are you typing in the search or submitting saved searches? If saved search, could you upload you web-saved-searches.xml file from the data folder.

I get an empty page with <html></html> as source. I don't see any channels with ! in the name (We have E! but it shows as ETV or CHCH)
I'll try the attachment below and then get back to you.

I don't always get email notifications from the forum so I need to remember to look for replies more often.

Well, here's something interesting.

I noticed there was no entry in web.log when I hit your third link and got an empty invoke response. I then decided to compare the first 2 links with the 3rd. If I change the request to: 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost, the invoke button works correctly.

Both URI load the SOAP page with the invoke button.

Here's the ping and tracert:

C:\Users\pvr>ping localhost

Pinging PVR-W8 [::1] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from ::1: time<1ms
Reply from ::1: time<1ms
Reply from ::1: time<1ms
Reply from ::1: time<1ms

Ping statistics for ::1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

C:\Users\pvr>tracert localhost

Tracing route to PVR-W8 [::1]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms PVR-W8 [::1]

Trace complete.

I'm going to change HOSTS and see what happens.

Thanks kornneef, I don't see any extra ! so that isn't it for you. UJB thought localhost might be better than 127.0.0.1 but I suspect something else. You might need to modify your hosts file to add the IPv4 notation 127.0.0.1 if you do want to use it. Internally I am not sure if NextPVR sockets work on IPv6 so ::1 testing doesn't show a lot.

You should have IP4 enabled as well.... NEWA will detect IP6 (should see messaging in log when you access NEWA via browser) and it will step to the IP4 address (assumes IP4 is there). If only IP6 is enabled then I would imagine there would be problems.

I verified in the network card status
IP4 Connectivity : Internet
IP6 Connectivity: No Internet access

I updated HOSTS and even rebooted without any change in behaviour.

What caught my attention was that the initial page does load. Pressing 'Invoke' does not timeout or give and error, but specifically <html></html> on both IE and FF.

I'll try disabling IP6 and see what happens.

Strange. OK, I think I'm looking at some sort of browser security thing. Launching your link with localhost doesn't work, launching with 127.0.0.1 does.
However, in the page source, they both post to:
<form target="_blank" action='http://127.0.0.1:8866/public/services/SearchService.asmx/getChannelListObject' method="POST">

Sorry fellows, looks like I was barking up the wrong tree.

However, with IP6 disabled, the search is still not working.

Does http://localhost:8866 bring up the guide?
