...whew.

I don't know if this is something that could be solved with IGL. The new season of Castle started which reminded me that XBMC does not properly process it for display in it's "Recently Add" TV shows list or it's TV Show section.

I have IGL set to rename recordings.

I have XBMC set to scan my recordings directory.

This works PERFECTLY for shows without duplicate series in the past.

Example:

Almost Human/Almost.Human.s01e07.Simon Says -> works

Castle/Castle (2009).s6e11.Under Fire -> does not work

Based on my experience with other shows that have the same series titles and XBMC, it is very likely failing because NPVR's directory name is just "Castle" and not "Castle (2009)" as is being correctly identified by IGL in the episode name. XBMC finds the first show name "Castle" at The TV Db, which this one isn't, doesn't find a matching episode/season, and skips it.

Could a feature request for IGL be for it to also rename the directory name to match the show name as found by The TV Db (or whatever source it is using?)

If you add the --nfo option iGL creates a minimal tvshow.nfo and XBMC will use this and override the folder name. If you happen to want to record two current shows ie Shameless and Shameless (US) you would need to choose to record one to a a different recording directory.

I do have that, but it never seems to make one. Do you see anything amiss here?

"c:\program files\npvr\imageGrabLite.exe" --oid%3 --rename --nfo --zap2it

It only leaves it when necessary ie on a conflict or if it isn't found on thetvdb or themoviedb

Because it is able to find it for the rename, the nfo isn't created. Are you suggesting just exclude the --rename and let it create nfos for everything? Wouldn't that break XBMC's ability to then figure out the episode name?

No, I meant that tvshow.nfo is deleted when the folder name is valid and the file is renamed. If you can find the id of a Castle recording in your npvr.db3 run the command line using it and post your log.

I'll look for the ID in a bit, gotta install something to look at the db. To clarify in the meantime, here's The TV db list when you search for "Castle":

http://thetvdb.com/?string=castle&search...ion=Search

IGL is correctly identifying the show name as "Castle (2009)" and is naming the episodes perfectly.

XBMC is scanning NPVR directory name "Castle" as created by NPVR and seems to default to the first/lowest ID in that list, "Castle", a show with one season from 2003 and isn't updating its database.

Something has to rename the directory to match the show name as listed by The TV db so it finds the proper series -OR- create an NFO for XBMC to use to get the correct series name.
