NextPVR 3.1.1R1a sometimes crashes when skipping commercial

Recurrent problem with 3.1.1R1A (was also there with R1 2.6.2 and pretty sure with 2.5.9 and 2.5.5)

Sometimes on some channel, when skipping commercial, NextPVR crashes

I can reproduce the problem with this show it happens after the 5th commercial, but not much is showed in the log

Does it work if you use a different video decoder?

I used Mainconcept,
just tried Cyberlink DVD13 and LAV , both fail at the same spot
even tried switching AudioDecoder from AC3Filter to LAV, fail also

I quickfix the ts file to see if there were transmission error, no problem found
even play the file without skipping commercial, no visible problem found.

This happen once or twice a day, not a big issue, just restart NextPVR and skip with the mouse

You might need to cut a chunk of that recording with the problem spot so sub can take a look at it.

I am uploading a 300MB sample few seconds before commercial up to a few seconds after commercial,

I also encoded the sample with Handbrake. No error in the ts file were detected during the encode

I have no problems skipping around in that video (or letting it play through). I use the PDVD 12 video decoder and LAV audio decoder.

It happens when it skip using the EDL file
The sample is only 315MB of the the original 8GB file, I guess unless you have access to the original file, it might be impossible to reproduce.

It might be the EDL causing the issue. Try pressing 999 <Enter> when playback starts (I think that's the code to disable comskip temporarily) then skipping manually. Or rename the EDL file so it's not read.

It only happens on CTV some maybe there is something weird in their broadcast stream
