Auto Update EPG enabled, schedule blanked every few days

I use SchedulesDirect for my EPG data and have Auto Update EPG enabled. The past few months I've noticed the schedule being blank every few days. When I run the Settings app and select Channels => Update EPG, the schedule data is successfully populated. Has anyone else experienced this, and more importantly root caused the problem and found a solution?

nrecord.log attached, but i get this error after uploading:

one or two other users reported this problem in the past month, it appeared to be bad data coming from Schedules Direct.

All of the settings are still active, and I can manually update the EPG. I have EPG Update set to 2 AM. I guess I can check it every day, or even better set the time to a minute after I am sitting at the computer and see what happens.

I would suggest you set the update time to something other than 02:00 I believe the reason you can now set the update time to wot u want is because the Schedules direct Servers were being overloaded at 2 am in the US Time zones and failing to provide data sometimes. - somewhere in between the hours would give you a better chance.

Yep, would have to agree with Wakalaka.

It doesn't seem to be anything NextPVR is doing wrong. It looks like Schedules Direct is just dropping the request for some reason - possibly load related, so would be worth trying a different time.

BTW, fixed that log message typo.

I update at 4:11 PM Pacific and have not seen any problems.

You can see my post here with the same problem.

I worked with Robert at SD and he was helpful. Basically, when I used XMLTV to get my EPG, I didn't have this problem but, he did see a few errors with 2 listings. I then went back to using NPVR to grab the listings directly and it worked for 5 days and started doing the same thing again. I've not gotten back with Robert since it happened again. But, he did see something wrong with Tribune's database and said he'd report it. Meanwhile, I had some channels in my line up that were no longer being used by my cable company and that threw up some errors.

I would suggest that you contact him about this and send him some info. The more who do, the better chance the problem will be fixed. I'll send him another email tonite with my logs so he can see if it's the same thing happening again.

I also am using Schedules Direct for my EPG data and have noticed the same thing over the past 2 or 3 weeks. I changed my update time to 5PM, instead of 2 or 3 AM, and have not noticed the problem since I made the change. I think Schedules Direct has been having issues with their data during the early morning hours, and it seems to fix itself by whatever processes they have running later in the day.

It happened to me again last night after working for a week. I've sent Robert at SD more info.
What I can't figure out is how a second machine is working fine and they are pulling the identical info. And, after switching to xmltv, I'm still have trouble. I also let him know that a few others are having the same problems so maybe he'll get back with a fix.
