So my shiny new HD tuner card leaves me wanting to shift all of my pending recordings from SD channels, to their HD equivalent where there is one.

Is there an easy way to update the existing recordings?

I had some idea I could be clever and delve into the database directly, but it doesnt look easy (Im happy with graphical DB tools - but my SQL ability is in its infancy!)

Cheers!

I'v also wanted the option to change channel in recurring/pending recordings for some time. It would also be nice to be able to change recording type.

I believe this will work...

Export your recordings.

Edit the 'recurring-backup.xml' file and change the <ChannelOID> and <ChannelName> values to match the HD channel. (You can get the ChannelOID by looking at the 'CHANNEL' table in the npvr.db3 database or from a different entry in the recordings-backup.xml or recurring-backup.xml files.) Delete all the entries for recordings that you don't want to change.

Import recordings from this file. Delete the recurring recordings for the SD channels.

Pending one-time recordings are not exported and can't be modified this way.

Create a new recurring recording based on the new channel.

Export the whole pending/recurring recordings list to xml file, and use a text editor to change all the old <ChannelOID> number to the new channel number. If the <ChannelName> changes then update that too.
