Hi Martin,

Sorry to be bothering you with another problem, but I can't get the WOL feature to work in X-Newa either from my Win7 clients or from OpenElec.

I'm currently testing from my personal PC. I use WOL with my NPVR machine all the time.

I've attached a screenshot of the X-Newa settings.
I've tried the MAC address both with and without colons.

I've done a wireshark capture, and nothing seems to be sent when I try to start X-Newa with WOL enabled.

From the same PC I run this command with a bat file on my desktop:
wolcmd 002219134A43 10.0.0.255 255.255.255.0
and that wakes the server every time, and I see the packet in Wireshark.

Firewall is disabled.

Here's a debug log:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hpbf66oalgmgi3f/xbmc.log
(X-Newa refuses to load for a while, and then eventually loads after I wake the remote PC with my bat file.)
That log is probably a bit messy due to the PVR client being active and me clicking too many times - I can get a cleaner one at some point but shows are recording now so I can't put my NPVR machine to sleep.

One of the reasons I didn't post the fix for the OK remote key is I am half-way into converting from custom WOL code to use XBMC's built in functionality. Hopefully that will work a little better.

As a work around I installed "Advanced Wake On Lan" add-on.

Ok, thanks to both of you, will give the Advanced WOL plugin a go for now.

Actually thank you. Your log identified that API login calls X-NEWA use aren't wrapped with the WOL logic causing 2 30 seconds timeouts.

I made the change to use xbmc WOL in 2.2.8. Let me know if that helps.

I have disabled the XMBC WOL add-on and the one built into X-NEWA does now wake the server. However using autoexec.py XBMC starts in the Programs screen and nothing happens for about 15 seconds then there is a "Connection Error" popup saying it cannot contact the NextPVR server IP address. The server was starting but was not yet up at the time of the error.

Could I send the xbmc.log up, I should be able to see the 5 WOL broadcast with the 5 second waits and where the timeout occurs, I might need a more time. If we can get that working, I will add a progress bar for the WOL process.

Here is XBMC log:-
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=167785

It would be great if you could get the Wake On Lan feature working as I would get rid of my Windows NextPVR clients. I should add that I am using an HP Microserver only has the Hibernate function so takes 47 seconds to start.

I have been using the Web Client for about two months and has been more reliable than the NextPVR client. Up until today I have been using the XBMC WOL add-on to start the server so once I see response that the server is up I manually start X-NEWA into the Web Client. However if I install the autoexec.py the web client thinks the recordings are off line because X-NEWA starts before the server is up.

In the next update I will make the number of connect attempts (it tries every 5 seconds) configurable. You probably will need 11 or 12
