I have downloaded Cyberlink's PowerVCRII so i can use the mpgmux.ax file. So far so good, but bearing in mind i downloaded the current version of PowerVCR, the version of my mpgmux.ax is 3.0.something.

Where are you peeps getting version 5.0.0.whatever of this file from?

Ooops,

This the thread seems to show the newer one is a bit iffy...

http://forum.gbpvr.com/forums/archive/in...-6911.html

Perhaps d/l the Powercinema ver 3.0 trial and errrr ... try it before you buy it ...

If the quartz.dll fiasco is anything to go by, IF you do it manually I "think" you need to unreg it, go into safemode, rename the old one to MPGMUX.OLD copy in the new one and then reboot and re-gregister it.

I don't know if the Trial prog does that autmoatically, but assume it does.

For Manual install this thread

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=2817 contains these filters...

If you JUST need the two ax files, lifeview's drivers do contain these.

Here's an example. I have a lifeview walker ...

I have now got the mpgmux version 5.0.0.727, but i am a bit loathed to install it since people have reported problems with recordings only creating 0kb files, constant crashing etc. I was just wondering which mux version people have the most success with?

Go ahead and try it. It costs nothing. You can unreg it if it does not work. Lots of other people have got it working. It didnt work for me though. The version I have is a later one and it works fine. However I did install SP2 and the Directshow patch so it may have been that.
