It definitely ran it. It looks like it ran for about 3 minutes.

It's likely there is something subtle in your batch file that you're missing. Remember that when the recording service runs it, it's running under a different user account. Maybe EPGCollector is storing some settings in your account, and not finding them when it runs under the localsystem account from the service? Maybe the output file isn't going where you expected it to? or it didn't have permission to write to said directory.

Thanks for checking.

The 18:32:?? to 18:35:?? was the stray update that worked yesterday, but there should have been another update that ran at 06:30:00 this morning (2014-05-15).

Again, it's strange that permissions, ID, security, file location were okay at 6:30pm, but the same batch file didn't work 12 hours later.

I'm just doing a cold boot of the server and will keep an eye on what happens after 06:30:00 am tomorrow.

It's possible it wouldn't have noticed the requested time change until your restarted the recording service. If that was the case, it should have run that night too when 6:30pm came around, but the logs were from before that.

I had this issue happen again on and off over the past 2 weeks. I've written to SchedulesDirect again. They responded and said it sounds like an application problem, as they haven't had any outages for 2 months.

This is still happening to me. Current NRecord log attached, search for SchedulesDirect to find the same error. Manual update works every time.
I'm about ready to write an AutoIt script to do the mouse clicks for me for manual update. Can I write a plugin to automate this workaround?

Have you tried disabling Auto Update EPG in NPVR and running NextPvr.exe -updateepgonly in the Windows Task Scheduer

I didn't consider to look up the command line switches. I tested it and it works great. Thanks! Hopefully my problem stays away. There's still a bug lurking ...

Dag nabbit! The -updateepgonly worked for a few days, but now I'm getting blank schedule again. I've turned off the automatic EPG update. How can both automatic EPG update and -updateepgonly both be causing my EPG data to get blanked a few days past the current date?

Does -updateepgonly log data anywhere? I don't find any in nrecord.log. Does it return an errorlevel so my batch file can check %ERRORLEVEL%?

nextpvr -updateepgonly logs in NPVR.log, as does clicking the UpdateEPG button in Settings->Channels. Only the automatic EPG update logs in NRecord.log. No idea about returning an errorlevel, but if I had to guess I'd say it probably doesn't.

I thought I figured out the problem for why my EPG was being blanked: Windows 7 Task Scheduler wasn't running my task to run "nextpvr -updateepgponly". It took an hour to create a workaround, but I did learn via internet searches that Windows Task Scheduler is terrible.

This morning I checked my log file to indicate my EPG update batch file had run, and it did. However, the EPG only had 4 days of data. I manually ran my batch file and it updated the EPG with 7 days of data. I don't know what the problem is since my batch file was run.
