My Pictures 3 alpha

On my recent trip, I have 6 folders (one each day I downloaded the camera). It would be nice to be able to view a random picture of all of them, but not of all of the other pictures in 2005. It is simple to work around, I just created a VACATION folder and copied them all there, and viewed that folder.

Thanks again for a very usefull plugin.

Check out the newest alpha version. It will see shorctcut's (lnk) file's as the image it's pointed to. So if you want to mix and match different pic's you can create a folder full of shorcuts to the pic's you want to see.

It works really slick, and you dont have to change your file structure to see the picts you want to see.

been using your plugin, to view 12 gigs of hi res digital pics, they load quickly, and slideshow runs great, its running nicely. Came in handy when family came to visit for the weekend.

I really like the web images, checking out different places of the globe. I did notice your message.."Downloading Weather Forecast...too lazy.." still pops up, if you were looking for something to finish up, hehe

I have a Kodak DX7590 5mp 10X optical. I went to Philly,Baltimore,DC last week. Lots of nice pictures.

Looking good reven, but still not quite working for me - am getting an error while browsing in icon mode that brings up an error message then shuts down GBPVR:

Setup Error: Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your Setup

Obviously no-one else gets this, so I can't think of an easy way to fault-find it. It seems to happen when I enter a previously un-entered sub-directory in icon view mode - only one or two of the preview icons appear, then the message pops up.

The last things in my gbpvr.exe log are:

ps. I know this isn't high on your priority list, but could you make the buttons skinnable? I tried replacing your button images with new ones, but I suspect you aren't actually using them

yeah i know where the problem will be. i was getting this error but thought it had something to do with the my messenger plugin i was working on (too much experimental stuff of my machine).

just edit the skin file, everything is already skinnable. the images are all composite images, so most of the time you can just replace a file you need to edit the skin.xml file.

Cool - I had already altered a few things in the skin, but couldn't see where to edit the standard menu buttons - looking at the zip file, I suspect I have forgotten to copy the "My Series" directory across to my skin, and that this is where standard skin alterations will be made - I will have a play.

just wondering if anyone has any bright ideas on how to do the music playlist issue. im still stuggling to come up with a good way to do this, and until then i cant do a final version (since the playlist feature will probably mean skin alterations).

so anybody, anything?

so far the crap ideas are
1) how it is now, a seperate list of all your saved .m3u/.wpl playlists
2) automatically plays a standard playlist (in random order) when you start a slideshow
3) when you go to play a slideshow a list come up with the available music playlists
4) you just define a music directory and it plays every file in that directory in random order until u stop the slideshow (this is probably my fav way, but still has problems).

it just needs to be simple and doesnt get in the way if you dont want music in the background (incase u are already listening to something).

its turning into a real bugger.

First of all, thanks for all of the great work you do with your My Series. They are great!

Personally, I have always liked the way you have it to date. So I like option #1. However, after reading about idea #3 I like that as well. I'm torn. Could you set it up in configuration settings for the My Pictures plugin for the user to choose how he/she wants to deal with playlists?

I've gone back and forth and I think my final answer is #1. You can pick your music and then do whatever you want while watching pictures in random mode, slide show, or even pulling up individual photos and not affect the music. I would think that it would suck to have it start and stop each time you pulled up a new directory or started a new session of random photos...?
