Issue with unhandled exception

Hi It's been a while since i last used NPVR. I think i was at 2.6.2 and just updated to 3.2.9 and made sure that no services or processes were running before the update. After the update if i go to settings > Devices i get an error message that says "Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. A procedure imported by 'Unmananged.dll' could not be loaded.

I also tried completely uninstalling npvr and re-installing it. In running Windows 8.1, and have installed directx 9 runtime

Any suggestions.

Zip and post your Logs directory, without logs there is no way we can guess what causes the exception.

that log just shows you launching NextPVR.exe and then exiting without doing anything. you have to recreate the error, then post the log.

oh, nevermind, I see you did go to Settings->Devices... the exception doesn't appear in the log, and unfortunately happens instantly (that is to say, it happens before NPVR logs anything relevant) so it's tough to tell what is wrong.

Instead try posting the full text of the unhandled exception (select the text, ctrl-c to copy, ctrl-v to paste)

how do i find out which one. Windows 8.1 already comes with .net 4 and i installed direct x as mentioned in the install setup guide.

It's not so straight forward to work out what runtime dependencies are missing. There are ways to work it out, but it's complicated to explain the process.
