HDHR - no picture/sound in QuickTV app

I recently reimaged my machine and upgraded to a SSD as my main system drive. After reinstalling the Silicondust drivers & utilities for my HDHomeRun, the QuickTV application wasn't showing any picture or sound. (Yes, I checked the firewall settings to ensure that the HDHR apps are all being let through)

Previewing channels via VLC on the Setup app works.

I went ahead and installed and configured NPVR anyway and discovered that, once I set up my capture sources, channel settings and decoders as per normal, NPVR is working fine.

Any ideas? For now I'm just watching live TV via NPVR but sometimes that can be a little cumbersome and I'm even less a fan of using VLC.

I had that problem recently and found that my free anti virus software had an update and the program would not allow HDHR to run. I added it to the exceptions and it worked.
So, try turning off any antivirus AND windows firewall and see if works. If it does, you've found your problem.

I'm using AVG - I just tried using their "temporary disable" function, no effect...

Try this:
open AVG, then under Options, choose Advanced Settings. On the left side, click on Exeptions. Click Add Exception and from the drop down menu choose File. Then Browse to your HDhomerun folder and 1 at a time chose the files that include Quick TV, Services and config_gui.exe.Click Apply then OK and that should do it.

Still nothing. Was AVG the AV software that was causing issues for you? Or was it something else?

Yes it was. I have the free version of AVG though I don't think that makes any difference.
When I tried Quick TV, I could hear sound for a split second but no picture then nothing until I did what I posted above.
Do you have any other software that might throw up a firewall or block certain programs?
