Got email this morning from SD announcing their major service change away from Tribune/Gracenote. Did some forum searching and it seems that NPVR testers and sub are busy with this.

What do we normal users need to do to switch to the new SD-DD interface?

you already have since October 15th. TMS has put in additional DNS records to re-direct half of the traffic to the SD-DD service.

in your NRecord.log if you find the beginning of your EPG update, you'll see a bit of logging like this:

Note the Server string. SD-DD uses an Apache server running on Red Hat. I don't recall what the TMS-DD uses, but it's not apache.

If you want to force use of the SD-DD server you can use the hosts file entry discussed in other threads.
