I'm having a few issues with the new metadata screens

In 3.2.9 Videos sort of worked. although only if an xml file was in shows. In 3.3.8 no fanart shows - view is the same whether the tick box in Misc 2 is checked or not - even when going to the recordings folder from videos.

In Recordings (Didn't use it much in 3.2.9) fanart shows but most of the Titles, Descriptions etc are missing - only showing in a couple of recent recordings and showing xml errors on some of those.

My older shows have been edited in Videoredo, so have no ADS - also noticed a lot of the xml files in Media/Shows (downloaded by IGL and the built in Metadata Downloader) are full of bogus info.

Also when backing out of a folder in Recordings it always goes to the start of the top level screen - Pain in the butt when you have 130+ different Shows

Off Topic - Windows 8.1 not getting the MS AAC Codec showing in settings
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

I don't use the new screens yet as 3.3.8 didn't improve them but I'd be happy to help with fix any iGL issues if and when you post specifics.

+1 for me on this. This is not new for me in 3.3.8, also existed 3.2.9.

I've been doing some further testing
In Recordings the new screen shows the Alternative Data Stream Metadata or if that's absent the xml metadata or if thats missing a blank screen. Which I guess is what Sub planned (no check on the database). As we haven't had Series / Episode data here yet, I think I'll have to get out your writetimeADS utillity and remember how to put the ADS Metadata back from the Database after editing the files.
Only real problem on Recordings then is it going back to the beginning every time you back out of a folder.

In Videos it no longer shows fanart - posters are OK

writeTime doesn't write the text metadata to the file, just Timing.Info.

bummer - thanks for letting me know I should have realized - the clue is in the name.
Any utility to re-write the Metadata about?

I think it is as simple as

type foobar.xml > "videofile.ts:metadata.xml"

There shouldn't really have been any changes to the metadata screens in this release, so it should be largely the same as 3.2.9.

You'll probably need to give me a more concrete example so I can try reproducing/fixing here. ie, some example .xml files, and a screenshot of what you get.

I don't think it ever has, has it? From memory their audio decoder is only usable for MPEG1 Layer 2 in external apps.

from the changelog:
- changed app to make it compatible with Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder for AAC audio.

Does this mean you removed it from the dropdown list? I thought it meant you had enabled it!

Ah, right. I forgot about that entirely. I'll check.
