ZapTools Updated

ZapTools has now been updated to be more efficient and streamlined. New processing has also been added to ensure that the extended Zap2it data is maintained for all your recordings in GBPVR.

If you are using the Zap2it EPG then this utility is probably worth you downloading and installing. ZapTools will provide extended Zap2it data to the Enhanced Web Admin (scheduler). This data includes Repeat information, Genre (i.e. Comedy, Drama, News, Sitcom, etc.), and Rating (i.e. PG, G, PG-13, etc).

The utility is easy to use and setup....instructions and utility are on the wiki.

The utility contains a dll library that can be used by any .net application to access the extended data in the zapdb.mdb file that the utility stores it's information in. Feel free to use this library in your own plug-in or utility!

If I can make one suggestion.....

On the Wiki, you point to a "Post Update EPG.bat" but that file name is incorrect. I believe it's "PostEPGUpdate.bat". That threw me off for a bit until I found the help for another plugin that had the right name.

I just updated the source and the interface.dll with two accessors. One for schedule data the other for program data.

Ok, I hate to be the pain, but I STILL can't get that batch file to be called by gbpvr after doing an EPG update. I thought the naming was my problem, but neither name works for me. (I'm using the most recent 11 release.)

If I run the batch file manually (by double clicking) everything works fine, but if I right-click the tray icon and select Update EPG, the batch file never gets called...

Any hints?

Zaptools on the wiki is now updated with a minor update to the compact database code. The updated code now creates the temp .mdb file created during the compact process in the allusers temp directory rather than the logged on users temp directory.

This change was to address a few security issues that appeared to be occuring due to the temp file being created under a specific user account.

If you want to update your exisiting install just replace your zapinterface.dll with the new zapinterface.dll file in the zaptools zaptools.zip file on the wiki.

If you aren't experiencing any problems then you probably don't need to upgrade.....but it can't hurt.
