I'm working on a modifcation to the main guide screen to make it useful for planning recordings, and would like to see more then 3 hours ahead.

How can I scale the guide down so that it shows further ahead?

Making it a smaller width gives the scaling effect I want for the hours it shows - and makes room for more; but of course doesn't use that space up.

and "@250minutes" seems to just appear as raw text.

It's not what you are asking but do you know that ctrl-f/r page by 3 hours? I've experimented with skinning this myself and found after four hours you need to shrink the font down too small for a 10' interface.

Did you find the 'TV Guide Minutes' setting on the Settings->Misc2 screen? It lets you change the number of minutes shown on the TV Guide. Admittedly it only gives you certain options, up to 4 hours. Like Martin, I found it was getting too small beyond that. This gives you a bit more than 3 hours.

I wasn't aware I could make the number of columns visible fewer that way, no - but as you say, I can't turn it up.

I've made more horizontal space avalable by removing everything but the channel logo; I just want to display an extra hour.

But that was the hint I needed. Although the UI stops you increasing it that far, you can set:
<VisibleGuideMinutes>300</VisibleGuideMinutes>
In config.xml
There doesn't appear to be any way to show the times above that new hour; but that should be good enough for now.

Thank you. Shame it can't be done from the skin xml, though.

I've added more 'TV Guide Minutes' options for the next release, allow you to get it up to 360 minutes.

Brilliant; thank you, that would be perfect. Right now setting it manually mostly works; but the setting is lost if I ever go into the settings menu to change anything else.
