I don't mind having a look. I hate trusting file extensions but .mpg is most common

Thanks this seems to be exactly the same problem that users reported a few years back http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...erun-issue. On your recording when Letterman starts the PMT stops being sent. TS4NP is a good utility for fixing that problem http://www.videohelp.com/download/Ts4Np_082.zip Martin

On your recording when Letterman starts the PMT stops being sent. Thanks for the help. I am going to make a number of CBS recordings over the next several days to see if the HDHomerun setting change "fixes" it. I did record an hour of football today on CBS and there were no skipping problems but we'll see how Letterman goes.

Ok. Remember when I wrote I hate file extensions as file types? If you have the LAV splitter installed and rename your non-skipping Letterman to .mp4 it will probably magically play and skip in NextPVR

I have made 4 CBS recordings and NPVR seems to be able to play and skip through them fine after the HDHR settings change (thanks, Zeb).
Unfortunately, these recordings sure give the Samsung player fits. One of them plays/skips fine, two of them show a length of around 22 hours with one that seems to skip and resume ok while the other one has problems, and the last one has the correct length but does not skip or resume properly. I guess CBS and Samsung just don't mix and I will have to give up on the Samsung player. Frustrating...

Sorry to hear that, guess I wrongly presumed that what's good for NPVR would also be good for Fred's Samsung app. Maybe Martin has an idea.
Slightly OT, but it would be good to know if Media Center works with HDHomeRun set to ATSC/QAM (I have no way to test).

mvallevand Wrote:I hate trusting file extensions but .mpg is most common Turns out a straight remux (copy video and audio streams directly) to .mpg or .mp4 seems to fix the skipping problems for the Samsung player. If I recall correctly, Sage would record to .mpg files directly but I don't imagine there is any way to get NPVR to record to a different file format? I suppose I could write a tool to do the remux and update the database after recording but this won't help in-progress recordings if fred gets that working.
