Kodi Helix OpenELEC Problem - "Tuner Not Available"

I've recently upgraded my OpenELEC Pi to Kodi Helix (OpenELEC 5.0) and I'm receiving an issue watching TV through the NextPVR addon.

When selecting a channel I get the "NextPVR Client tuner not available" message pops up several times (about 3) before a 0% buffering box pops up in the top right had corner (I'm using Confluence. All worked fine previously on XBMC Gotham.

The Channels and EPG populates fine while recordings update and play without issue. I have a XBMCBuntu and Windows 7 install of Helix and NextPVR, with the exact same settings, is working without issues

I had the same problem what i did was in Livetv Settings in playback I changed the Delay channel switch to 250ms. That fixed it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to increase the delay channel switch but the problem persists.

Maybe my fix was just a coincidence ... The pvr plugin is almost unusable with the latest Openelec Kodi release getting tuner unavailable messages like crazy. X-Newa works fine. In my case I am using The Prime with Cable Card it appears to timeout. When trying to tune. Once it tunes any channel it will work for all channels.

I've written on this before, it is certainly not an OE issue since I don't have the problem on my Chromebox. I think it is how the PVR mode on the RPi with the http streams is initiated. You don't have debug logging enabled so the logs don't help much, but the error I get on the RPi doesn't happen if I play a live tv stream with x-newa first.

Yeah once I get 1 channel to tune everything works good from there on in. Next time I get a chance will enable debug logging watching football now..

Yes those logs have the error I only see on the RPi in PVR mode

Hello, this is my first post so if I am incorrect in my use please forgive... I am trying to get a new install of Kodi/NextPVR working on Win8.1. I have the HD Home Run Extended and am getting the same error "NextPVR Client tuner not available" I have time shift turned off. I have made the changes to windows fire wall, but this problem is driving me crazy. I do not recall seeing a resolution above. I would appreciate any advice as how to stop this problem.

The HDTC works fine but without logs you are asking us to guess what the problem is. My guess is you are running ATSC with major/minor values set and you even't updated NextPVR with the required NShared.dll (which should probably should be in the sticky) plus you also need v14.1 of Kodi.

mvallevand, thanks for responding. Your first guess is correct. I should change ATSC channel numbers from 13.1 to 130 for example. Is that correct? I have not updated NShared.dll Where do I find it? I installed all systems last Saturday - HDhomerun, NexPVR and Kodi. I am running Kodi 14.1. Where do I go to get the logs? I really am a newby. I am having fun though and can not wait to give Dish the boot!
