I am running nextPVR as a backend to Kodi. I've enabled timeshifting on the Kodi clients and can now record.
My nextPVR has set MyRecordings to be stored in a shared directory on my server D:\OurMdeia\RecordedTV.

Recording from the Kodi clients place the shows in the right place but, they are not visible in Kodi until I exit Kodi and restart it.

It's a known problem that sub is looking into, I did upload a proof-of-concept dl here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post483097 for Win32

Unfortunately this issue has meant that I have abandoned using my RPi2 as a NextPVR client and moved back to an old laptop for use as an extender. Hopefully once this is resolved I'll be able to move back to the RPi2. (Find the web interface on X-NewA is a little too slow for me, probably because of my server hardware).

It sounds like a real battle as to where the refresh code should be implemented with the Kodi team saying it should be as a separate background timer and the PVR Plugin developers that it should be triggered by Kodi whenever a PVR status message is received (e.g. PVR Started Recording at the bottom of the screen). Would seem that the latter makes most sense but at present it's not possible.

Good luck in finding a solution Sub - can't believe how good it is having a PVR solution that's actively supported (after having come from a BeyondTV background)!

If you are using KODI why not add them as TV SHOWS to kodi video files. It is a lot better and has multiple Views. That is what I do on my RPI. I use imageGrabLite to rename them by season and episode.

I'm upset we don't get those Out of Time episodes! There might be something wrong with them I will have to check since specials are normally season 0.

The trouble with TV Shows or the Video Libraries is without a MySQL database you can't share between locations the watched indicator and resume points.

True about resume and watched ... but the all have Shortcommings.

NEXTPVR plugin there is no way to sort by episodes. ArtWork is limited ... no comskip .. No watched Status. No Progress.

X-NEWA limited artwork no Watched Status ..

The Above you cannot sort by Original Airdate which is much better than sorting by recorded date.

So I am mostly using the Plex Plugin for Kodi .which when set to smb does comskip... except for livetv .... Which I use the NEXTPVR plugin because X-NEWA is limited in that it will not update the shows on the OSD.

I don't care about art, especially if when I have to scan just to have pretty screens, but in Isengard the PVR addon has improved fanart and cover displays. I asked pkscout for some help skinning since I'd like background art in x-newa. Sub is trying to improve the art in NextPVR which will make web client nicer howeve I wish I could convince some skinners to help here to revamp the whole thing. I even think an STV skin would help bring more Sage users.

My X-NEWA has the watched status as shown here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post481578

I use the iGL option --redate to change the recording date to the original air date. X-NEWA also has an S/E sort which is the best sort.

Regarding W3bbo's feed question I am working on a change to OE to use Kodi like the NMT with much much faster incremental updates that blow web client out of the water I've just wasted too much time on the PVR Addon over the last month, I thought I would try and use it afer fixing thing up a bit it but it frustrates me too much and since they just bounced sub's change to Kodi for a couple I've tabs, that was the last straw.

You wouldn't find it anywhere because the option is actually --first

I always had minor playback problems with the Windows client but switching to X-NEWA under OpenElec cured that. There was a problem running under XBMC 13 which meant that Openelec locked up playing 4:3 content on some channels at the point where the 16:9 adverts end and the old 4:3 content starts. The work around was to use a computer with Nvidia graphics but Kodi has cured the problem so I can use my Celeron Nettop for all recordings now.

I just don't see the point of downloading artwork and extra info about each recording!

At first I got caught out several times using X-NEWA with the clock being slow to update thinking I had time to watch another recording! The only Update problems I have had was a few days ago when a programme was still listed as "Recording" an hour after it finished. That may have been a one off problem which was cured by navigating to the EPG and back to Recordings.
