Clients - Tuner no longer available

Hi,
I have setup Next PVR server and i can successfully watch TV fine on the host, but clients cannot stream anything.
I am using the NextPVR addon on the latest Raspberry pi XBMC build. The error I get when i try to stream any channel is "Tuner no longer availabile"

Things I have tried:

• 2 different Raspberry pi's running XBMC
  
• 2 different hosts with NextPVR installed
  
• turn off firewall
  
• Install X-NEWA addon in XBMC (this was suggested as a fix when i googled the issue
  
• Toggle Timeshift on and off
  
• disable and re-enable addon in XBMC
  

Any other ideas?

As you're in UK, I presume you aren't using major.minor channel numbers (i.e. 5.2)? Those aren't supported in XBMC yet, and will produce the "Tuner no longer available" error.

If that's not it, you'll need to post your logs.

Unfortunately that is the general error message, nothing really to do with tuners except in a perfect world.

The reason iwhy x-newa comes up in searches is not because installing it fixes any problems. With x-newa live tv usually works on the RPi, and often once you stream with x-newa whatever RPi error condition is being triggered seems to go away and sub's add will work. I can't see anything in the client code that would make this difference.

Kodi debug logs are required but they almost always point to the same error that sub has no control over from the addon.

Thanks for your help, I have attached both Kodi (XBMC) and NPVR logs. You can see the error at 11:17:28 in the Kodi Logs "'Tuner no longer available'

I can confirm that the channel numbers are not decimal.

Any ideas?

I did see that same RPi message that I mentioned

11:17:39 T:2820400192 DEBUG: ffmpeg[A81BE440]: [mpegts] Could not detect TS packet size, defaulting to non-FEC/DVHS

All this really says is that the RPi was never able to find a good ts file after 20 seconds or so of streaming.

Maybe try the Milhouse 15.0 OE nightly?

I just did and still have the same problem. It's not tuner related either I can open one tuner in x-newa and any tuner will then work in the PVR addon.

maybe stupid idea, but, as a work-around, could a plug-in or script be created to:
- on kodi startup
- execute the code that x-newa uses to tune a channel
- close that stream

Then the npvr plugin should work for that kodi session??

x-newa uses the same non-timeshifting URL that PVR mode uses. It would seem better for someone that actually cares about the RPi to figure out what is going wrong, I am pretty sure this was introduced somewhere in Gotham.

For me, every time I use my RPi I end up frustrated and now the new recording art feature makes it even more grueling to use.
