I got it mine from GearBest. I ordered a few weeks ago, after I saw a thread (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?for...cid=161734) where a few other NZ users had commented on buying with a discount code. Unfortunately that pre-sale special has finished now though. Their regular price for the same unit is $127.

It took them a while to ship it, but it's on it's way now and I have tracking info.

You lucked out gearbest were burnt by the Windows license but they decided to 'eat' the cost, so that makes sense.

Thanks for the info. I didn't have any serious plans of buying Raspberry Pi 2 and running Windows with NPVR, I was just curious about the possibility.

That said, you can already use NextPVR on Raspberry Pi 2, via the XNEWA webclient plugin. You get the full NextPVR UI you're used to seeing, with only a few minor differences.

Yes they are

They've also announced, they're giving away free upgrades to Windows 10 for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 devices for the first year Windows 10 releases.

Whilst Microsoft are bringing a free version of Windows 10 to the RPi2, it appears that this will be the IoT version which is designed to allow Windows binaries to run on embedded devices.

The important point is that this does not include a GUI so no traditional applications at all, designed to run services for embedded systems so no hope of a native NPVR client install I'm afraid.

I've had it a couple of weeks. I have installed NextPVR and run it up, but not done too much with it. I tried it out with a DVB-T, and seemed to play our HD channels fairly well.

I've been looking at the Vensmile IPC002. No wired Ethernet with is the only reason I haven't jumped on it. What I REALLY like about it is the fact that it comes with a battery so you can move it without shutting down.
