SoftPVR installation woes

I have been trying to install SoftPVR for a few hours now and, after studying the batch file and the content of the extracted WinTV7 installer (version 3.9g, the current one on the Hauppauge site), it seems that Hauppauge has renamed and/or restructured the libraries and filters.

End result, the SoftPVR batch file doesn't work anymore (numerous 'file not found' errors) since the files it tries to pull from the WinTV7 installer are no longer there.

I have also had no luck whatsoever in trying to find an older installer of WinTV7. Oldest I managed to find was 3.7 and that still didn't have the correct files.


Would someone be so kind as to either:
- figure out what the new required filenames are so I can correct the batch file
- package just the files for SoftPVR and make that available
or
- Put the WinTV7 version 3.2 installer online?

Nope it still works in v7 3.9g but there is a minor issue with v8 The batch file stinks but it isn't something sub wants improved, so just use the /x option to manually get the files you need.

Did you use the newer "beta" version of the softpvr installer? This is the first report I've seen that it doesn't work.

softpvr.bat looks for these files and copies them to the C:\SoftPVR folder:

Do you see them when you just run the version with the dialog? They are about 1/3 of the way down

wintv7_cd_3.9g /X

I have Hauppauge devices installed though which might be the difference.

Yep they're in the dialog, they just for some reason don't extract with "/x foldername" or "/X foldername".

Might be because I don't have a Hauppauge device? (ATI TV Wonder 650 USB)

I'll have to see what installer framework Hauppauge used and find a decompressor to extract the files manually. Doesn't look like Installshield or msiexec so far. -_-

Easier to just highlight and extract them.
