meanwhile...back at the ranch..
Martin, any thoughts on how I can use --import to import an entire folder, possibly with subfolders as well? (e.g Game of Thrones\series1\Game of Thrones.SXXEYY.mp4).
It seems (to me) far more likely that folks would want to do this rather than importing individual shows (especially when you have a whole heap of them).
options appear to be:
a) for IGL --import to support ability to recurse through a folder
b) for me to write a batch file to run within the files plugin to recurse through the selected folder and call IGL --import for each show found.
It's (b) isn't it?
[edit] and how does --import handle duplicates? (does it abort if it finds a file with the same name in the db?)
âIf this is the way Queen Victoria treats her prisoners, she doesn't deserve to have any.â
I added this to import OnDemand and other single captures. Maybe if you can convince sub to add S/E sorting I'd consider it, otherwise the Video Library is the best way to view these.
--import handles duplicates very well, it will create as many as you want!
I converted a .ts file to .mkv and now want to import it back into the database from where it got deleted.
Show is called W1A
I ren W1A.S02E01.mkv W1A.S02E01.ts
But IGL renames W1A.S02E01.ts to W1A.S02E01.Episode1.ts which I didn't want it to do.
Code:
R:\Recordings\W1A>imageGrabLite.exe --import "R:\Recordings\W1A\W1A.S02E01.ts"
<Event>
<OID>1</OID>
<Title>W1A</Title>
<SubTitle>Episode 1</SubTitle>
<Description>One year on and head of values Ian Fletcher has finally got his o
wn office. He and the team have a new set of challenges to rise to, including th
e impending royal visit of HRH Prince Charles. The question is, which of the man
agement team will get to shake the royal hand?
Head of BBC brand Siobhan Sharpe and her team at Perfect Curve have been tasked
with giving a makeover to the BBC coverage of Wimbledon following rumours of a b
id from a rival broadcaster. Her response is a brand mash-up to end all brand ma
sh-ups.
Meanwhile, over on the creative frontline, entertainment-format producer David W
ilkes is trying to come up with the next big factual-entertainment series after
Britain's Tastiest Village failed to fly. He's got the title - Up Town
, Down Town - he just hasn't got a show or a cast.
Finally, intern Will Humphries's security pass won't let him into the
building. Is it a technical problem or something more significant?</Description>
Is there a way to run an import without IGL renaming the file?
cheers
john
oh and I note that you haven't added the details of the --import feature to the wiki page yet but i'm sure that it's somewhere on your to do list (at #178 I suspect) :-)
âIf this is the way Queen Victoria treats her prisoners, she doesn't deserve to have any.â
I guess because your subtitle isn't very descriptive, it looks worse than North American files but I don't have any plans to have my import work without bringing in thetvdb subtitle and description before renaming. Usually people want the subtitle
The wiki is not mine it was created by the community and I expect that the community will keep it current.
The fact that it finds the subtitle and description is excellent.
It's no big deal, it's just that I was expecting --import to do a tvdb lookup and then add a record to the database (nothing more) and that IGL would only rename if I added --rename to the command line.

Good point I was thinking you wanted the rename function modified, I still want it as the default, this extends the existing --norename option to not rename imports.

HoKay I am rather confused now (having not tried it yet) but I want to import two seasons of Defiance (which is on theTVdb) & from your screenshot in the first post of this thread it shows a date & time (I assume grabbed from first run D/T from theTVdb), so why would you need S/E sorting for this??
