I have 3 different Samsung Smart TV's. This app is excellent on all of the TV's, but on the biggest of the 3 (an UE55HU7200), it has an annoying blink whilst playing HD video. The other two play the same clip without missing a beat.

The blink often seems to occur at a scene change, as though the TV cant quite keep up with the stream. It's repeatable, so I pretty certain its not a comms issue. The TV is hard wired to a gigabit lan.

Has anyone else seen this? or have I just got a dodgy TV. I've not seen it happen in any other apps (Netflix for instance) or on OTA HD.

Martyn.

its probably the dynamic contrast ratio thing or what ever they call it trying to adjust thinking its going from a dark to light scene
look for auto contrast or similar in setting or turn onto game mode and see if it goes away

Black tone is another
i think movie mode may also disable dynamic contrast (may need to tweak colours etc to get a pic you like though)

No, not that, both Dynamic Contrast and Black Tone are off. I tried it in football mode and its still the same.
I don't think its a problem with the app though as I just copied the TS file to a USB stick and it does the same thing. Time for a call to Samsung I think.

Have you tried playing the file from a USB stick ? It may finger the culprit being the Samsung player or npvr+networking

So love to waste my breath!!!

Just in case anyone is interested in taking a look I've put a smallish clip here https://www.dropbox.com/s/ilfsl2rb9fvfvf...2.ts? dl=0. The blink occurs twice. Once when the mobile phone with the cat appears and again when it switches away from the phone.

I tried the clip on two Samsung tv's (one smart, one dumb) and it seemed to play through fine.

edit: I may have been premature here - so don't believe the above - sorry.

Thanks for looking at it . I'm afraid the content wasn't that interesting, unless you are keen on dead cat's/

What model is your main TV Martin? Does it play at all?

Main TV is Sammy UE40F5500AK. Another I have just tried it on is a T22B350 and that won't play it from a USB stick either - same error message about frame rate 50 not supported.

They both just show that error and drop back to the media menu. (that is from playing via USB).
Playing from sammy app both recordings and video menu just sits at a black screen.

It looks like I was premature/in error with post 7 above.
