The rocket's hardware is the encoder, so you can't change that.

You could change the H.264 video decoder, but I'm pretty sure that's not going to make any difference. Your problem sounds like it'd be happening after decoding (since it always needs to decode ever frame). Its most likely Windows or video renderer (which is responsible for displaying each of the frames on the screen). Pretty much all you'd be able to do from the NextPVR perspective is try the other video renderers and hope that one does what you want.

NextPVR will auto list any H.264 decoders found on your machine. Most people either use the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder that comes with most versions of Windows, or the ArcSoft video decoder that comes with various ArcSoft software (and the Hauppauge software), or a CyberLink decoders that come with some of the Cyberlink software.

I still don't understand why it matters what the frame rate is when the window is minimized?

My question is if NextPVR is running in the forest and no one is there to see it what is the fps?

I think the OP really meant not full screen video though.

no, his youtube demo clearly shows he's concerned about the frame rate when the video is minimized. he's running some app called shadowplay (nvidia I guess?) to capture the rendering in the minimized window. I haven't viewed the video in 1080p so that I can actually see the problem, but I take his word for it... but I still struggle to understand why this problem is actually a problem.

Thanks, but now it makes even less sense since because how could you possibly play a game and watch it with NextPVR. Using Hauppauge Capture with StreamEez direct to Twitch seems like how the Rocket is supposed to be used.

hello there martin, the thing is that i run layers of images on my stream like a frame, scrolling text, animations, etc, OBS does all that but it does not natively support the hauppauge capture cards (at least not the windows beta release, the multi-platform release does support them but the problem is it does not have all the features the beta has which i find to be important for my stream), now streamez you can only add a webcam and im kind of picky in how i want to display my stream, so yea there you go i prefer to use OBS all the way plus its free, for you to have all the featurs in xsplit you have to pay for it which i do not want :S.

the reasons i want the 60fps t be constant is because i like to give my viewers a smooth streaming experience with the 60fps (which for some gamers like me are an issue) and i can deliver that to my viewers with OBS and have all the features, for free

johnsonx42 to clarify my problem, having an extra window up takes space in my screen, i like to save as much screen space as possible to put usefull information, like chat windows, twitter FB, mail etc, having that extra window is just annoying for me and minimizing is the simplest solution but unfortunately it lowers the frame-rate, its not a big issue whatsoever since i can just move it to another place off the window but it was a curiosity i wanted solved Big Grin.

framerate in the gaming world is an important factor since it offers a smoother gaming experience and better reaction to any situation, and i like to give that better experience to my viewers.... yes i know im picky
