Never had a problem before, any hints please?

Hi.
Any error message? Did you tried to right click - run as administrator?

Hi Hoborg - no, no message - it just hung. I restarted the PC and tried a few times and it eventually worked OK.

Hi Hoborg
Just started using SAF6.3.0 WIP3 for the first time in over a year (Had been using the stand alone lav filters with an extracted PDVD13 codec and xy-vobsub) Upgraded to 64bit Win 8.1 and Subtitles in NPVR no longer worked. With SAF 6.3 they do

Some Observations

Had to exclude my SAF unlock key in Anti Virus - It didn't like it. So I had to trust you!
Same with WGET - can you update it to a newer one from here? https://eternallybored.org/misc/wget/ which are OK

On Install it updated DirectX - which was a surprise as I had already run the full DX9 installer.

I unticked base player and vp7 codec - LAV handles most codecs now.

After Install I replaced LAV files with latest nightlies - LAVFilters-0.65.0-7(Universal Extractor on the installer works) and removed the Arcsoft file from Syswow64. LAV now handles DTS-MA without it.
Updated MPC-HC to Nightlies - MPC-HC.1.7.8.162.x86
Updated GraphStudioNext to 0.7.0.433 - available here http://alax.info/blog/1486 - Is there a reason why you always remove the [Next] from the name?
Updated DXVA checker to 3.4.1

Up till now I have been using xy-vobsub because it was much more efficient (Chinese is spoken extremely fast when translated to English)
I believe the Chinese developer of xy-vobsub / xyfilter has disappeared, so there is unlikely to be any updates. I also see that there have been a few subtitle commits on the MPC-HC github.
Is the MPC-HC vobsub now as fast as the xy-vobsub? Or any other reason you are using it?
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Hi.

I just updated the key to latest WGET, but size increased from 0,2MB to 1MB
That was the reason why i did not want to do it earlier. But if it will solve the false virus warning, then so be it.

I will remove VP7 decoder in next build, i somehow miss that update.

I think the MPC-HC DirectVobSub should already integrated all speedups from xy-vobsub, so speed should be the same.

I will release next WIP4 soon.

Hi Hoborg

I have been doing some testing of vsfilter from the MPC-HC standalone filters. The screen positioning has been broken in every nightly build after [MPC-HC_standalone_filters.1.7.8.61.x86] Stretch to 16.9 moves the subtitle up the same as crop to 16.9
1.7.8.61 is the last that behaves as expected - - Just a heads up if you are thinking of updating it in WIP4

Hi Hoborg
I installed WIP3 and the video went upside down and back-the-front using WMP (did not install classic). There no obvious way to flip / reverse / invert whatever the image in video config How can I fix this please ?
There is no issue wth VLC - plays fine .. I installed SAF 6.3 WIP3 as I wanted to display HEVC mkv files in WMP.
I uninstalled WIP3 and just installed raw LAV filters 0.65 and this works fine , so potentially with the install / config of SAF.. Thanks
This is on an old XP SP3 box - not my main unit but used for downloading / previews .
HW: HP Dc7600, 1 x 1000 gb/4gb RAM, Nvidia 9400/512, TinyTwin Tuner, Win7 Ultimate. NPVR latest, Cyberlink [SIZE=1]- subject to change[/SIZE]

Hi.
Can you please try install WIP3 including MPC-HC player and try to play it in MPC-HC?
VLC is not DirectShow player, so this is completelly irelevant.

BTW, my MotherBoard died few days ago. I got new one, but CPU have different socket 1155 VS 1150. So i am waiting for Intel Core i7-5775C to put it inside my HTPC and use my current HTPC i5-4670T Processor in my home PC. Until it will be released, i will not be able to create WIP4.

I've just found the rules for advanced subtitle handling - it's in the Readme file that comes in the LAV installer (perhaps it could be included in SAF)

One of the problems I have is that the English subs in MKV files etc. are quite often labeled as default, even though the spoken language is English, which makes the subtitles show when they are not welcome.
You can switch them off in NextPVR, but the following should make them behave automatically:

In LAV Splitter Configuration:

In the Audio: text box put

Code:
eng,eng

Change the Subtitle Selection Mode to Advanced

and in the Subtitles: text box put

Code:
eng:eng|f eng:off *:eng

This tells the splitter - English Audio show Forced English Subs, other English Subs off, Any Other Language, show English Subs.

Of course any other language codes or combinations of rules can be used - see the ReadMe attached.
