No Video, No Audio - HDHomerun

Before you ask, yes, I have searched the forums! After doing so, I realize my problem is not unique, but unfortunately I seem to be incapable of solving it on my own so am hoping someone on here can help!

Setup: Windows 7, HD Homerun through digital antenna, NPVR, (XBMC/Kodi - but problem starts even without loading XBMC)

No Audio and no Video in NPVR when I click "LIVE TV" (just see black screen). Live TV and EPG works fine from within the HD Homerun 'View" app. I can also view manually created .strm files from within XBMC, but when i try through "Live TV" I just get spinning circle.

I've added NRECORD.exe nextpvr.exe and NDigitalhost.exe to my firewall exceptions, and have tried with firewall completely disabled. I also have Avast firewall, but have tried with Avast completely disabled as well.

Log files are attached.

Any help you can provide would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Probably a codec problem. Check out SAF6 by member hoborg here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?50227-Saf6
That usually fixes it right up. Smile

The default directory for live TV buffer is C:\Temp. Does such a folder actually exist? If not, you can either create it or put the buffer somewhere in Users\Public via Settings > Misc.

With Windows 7, the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder is quite good for MPEG2 video, but I'm not sure if ffdshow audio decoders will work for AC3. (I'm using AC3Filter, no SAF6 pack.)

It seems like Avast has caused problems for HDHomerun users in the past, but I don't recall the details.

@HarryH3: I installed SAF6. Didn't make any difference.

@ZEB: I created c:\Temp\ folder. The .TS files show up there, but they don't grow - i.e. they stay as zero bytes while NPVR is open and the files disappear when NPVR closes. I set AVAST to temporarily disable and it made no difference. I haven't tried completely uninstalling it yet, but I suppose I can try that.

Has anyone actually looked at my log files? Are there any clues in there as to what the problem might be?

Another thing I thought of - is it possible there is a firewall on my router that is causing my problem?

Logs look ok, although the signal strength doesn't look great. If the file size is 0 I'd say it is the firewall. Running Windows firewall plus Avast just seems wrong.

@mvallevand: I completely disabled windows firewall, and still no audio or video Sad the free version of Avast I am running actually doesn't include a firewall at all.

Any other suggestions?

Since NextPVR and the HDHR's do work together, something at your end seems to be blocking the creation of files. If you have the HDHR config GUI app running you should be able to use it to monitor the tuning and the steaming when NextPVR starts a recording.
