Hi,
When recording programs back to back on channels they are switching tuners,
For Example
when recording a program on 1 Channel on Tuner A and recording the program proceeding it will swap to Tuner B causing the recording on Tuner B to stop which also has another show set to record on the same Mux.

logs attached

Thanks

your logs don't really show enough to explain precisely what's going on, but suffice it to say it all comes down to the way the scheduler works and the order in which recordings are scheduled. sub gave the scheduler fairly simple and reliable logic that usually, but not always, results in optimal use of tuner resources, but it's quite easy to encounter scenarios where you could have allocated the recordings better yourself, particularly with benefit of hindsight which the scheduler does not have. you're human, be glad, you're still smarter than the computer!

I've suggested some logic changes in the past that would help the scheduler allocate tuners better particularly when considering multi-record and back-to-back recordings on the same mux, but such suggestions suffer from certain limitations:

1. easy for me to say change this, change that, I'm not the one who has to implement them without breaking something else
2. often someone points out how such a change might improve matters in one scenario yet make things worse in another scenario (usually their particular scenario)
3. in any case, the more cleverness one attempts to build in to the scheduler, the greater the chance that it will sometimes be too clever for it's own good (in fact this may already be what you're encountering, the scheduler's clever attempt to help you by re-allocating a recording to a different tuner at one point in time ended up tying the scheduler's "hands" at a later point in time)

(to be clear, I am assuming you mean that you didn't get padding on one or more shows that you thought you should have been able to get; if you actually had a recording stop during the scheduled portion of the recording, then you'd need to post more logs (i.e. the .1, .2 and .3 logs too) and be precise about which recording stopped and when)

I don't recall any changes to the scheduling logic in this release, nor to the logic surrounding re-allocating tuners on-the-fly to try to accommodate padding. It's more likely there's simply been some change to your recurring recordings and/or the tv schedule that's making this problem appear now.

If you want to post more complete logs and describe exactly which recording(s) are missing padding, I can analyze the sequence of events and verify it's working the way it's supposed to.
