Did a clean Windows 10 install yesterday, I install NextPVR this morning, and there is no big "N" icon in the bottom-right taskbar. What must I do to make it appear?
Does NPVR work? Try restarting the service and see if that works.
I've only put 10 on a barely used laptop and though NPVR was installed on it, I have't used it so I'm not even sure what behavior you should be seeing but my guess is that it works the same as in 7 and 8.1.

if I recall correctly the tray icon isn't started by the installer. it will load when you reboot the machine, or find your Startup group and click the icon there. using the "Stop Service" and "Start Service" icons in the NPVR group will also launch the tray icon.

The NextPVR service wasn't loaded, and that's even after 2 reboots. Hmm, guess I need to set up the service manually, somehow, so it load as it should.

Hi! It maybe an oddball thing, but check the properties of your NVPR NTRAY startup, then compatibility, And see if start as administrator is checked.
Since going to 10, every program that was granted administrator rights in startup failed to start. Putting them back to normal minion rights, things are working again.
