Kodi 15
SageDCT 2.7.4 x64
NextPVR 3.4.8
Windows 8.1

First I just want to say that this is working great so far, but I've noticed my Live TV Buffer folder filling up, (see attached pic).

Is there a setting I missed that cleans this up or should i try some sort of scheduled task to take care of this? I have a 250GB SSD with about 180GB free but at the rate I'm going it won't be long before this gets filled.

Normally it cleans up old files automatically. You don't need to set any special settings for this. I suspect it's something to do with the way the NetworkRecorder/SageDCT is creating these files.

Are none of the files going away, or just occasionally files being left behind (like after a crash or something)?

ie, if you empty your buffer directory, then start live tv, and leave if for 30 minutes or so (not changing channels or anything), then stop live tv, exactly what files are left behind? There numbers might give me a clue what's happening.

And, I don't think you need the performance of your SSD for the buffer. Any space on your D: drive? This all worked before SSDs came along. Smile

Correct, none of the files go away, it just keeps making new ones as channels are changed, even after reboot they are still there.

To my knowledge the file just keeps growing, its gotten as large as 4GB in a file before i turned off the TV to work on other things.

I do have space on D if i need it but i keep that for other things, in any event, I'd need a way to manage these files as they would eventually fill up any drive.

I've noticed in logs from NRrecord with NetworkRecorder it tries to delete the temp file immediately at the end of live tv which always fails because it doesn't leave enough time to stop the process. I'm not sure if I added a wait in the plugin if that would help. SageDCT create one big file so -2 etc would be the next run.

I think there is a cleanup on a recording service restart.

Yep, it'll probably clean up automatically later anyway. If you have problems deleting the file though, you can also call TempFileManager.GetInstance().AddTempFile(filename), and it'll periodically try to delete it for you.

the temp files persist through both SageDCT and NPVR service restarts

I'd be willing to test anything you wanted to try though

Perhaps the tuner plugin needs to add this every time?

I am willing to add a pause in there. Before I make a change could you change the Same Socket setting and restart the service watch some live tv and upload NRecord.log I am trying to figure out why you have the parameter error.

No problem, I put a check in the box on the 'same socket' setting for my 1st tuner, restarted the services and watched a few channels, attached are the logs

fyi... i went back to my device setup for my 1st tuner and it was no longer checked as 'same socket' it seems like this setting doesn't 'stick'
