I don't know if it's a local store only deal, but the local Circuit City has the MVP on clearance for $53. YMMV.

Circuit City's website no longer lists the MVP. If stores have any, I would expect them to be on clearance. Since it is not on the website, you can't check availability at local stores online.

I just picked up a MVP at Circuit City in St. Louis for $60 on clearance. Didn't open the box yet, but last one I bought from same store was version D3A. What is the best version to own? Have used 2 D3A's for several months with no issues.

I bought my MVP from Circuit City yesterday. I'm not sure what version it is, but it came with the newer 45 button remote. The price on the shelf was $68.99 but it scanned at $54.99.

Sold!!! I said.

Circuit City had two different MVP's on the shelf one box had a cutout on the cover so you could see the MVP through a clear plastic cover. This is the one I grabbed. (The box looked newer).

Question for anyone who might know, Does the MVP w/GBPVR support WMA and/or WMV playback?

Thanks

If you're lucky and the wind is blowing the right direction.

Ok, I'm guessing from your answer it either doesn't work, doesn't work very well, or I'm a dunce for asking in the first place.

It does work, but some people seem to have endless problems. The next release should improve things slightly.

WMV support needs a quite grunty PC, as it requires real time transcoding to MPEG format. Hauppauge recommend a 2.4Ghz for this, but I'd have to recommend slightly higher. Maybe 2.6Ghz?
