FLIRC arrived today and have been working with it on my laptop waiting for the desktop to arrive on Thursday that will be used only for the NextPVR. Sending most remote commands to it to be recorded has worked well. But the problem I have is setting up any of the color buttons on the remote. Since none of these exist on any of the controllers in FLIRC, how can you set any of them up?

I have Flirc on both my main HTPC (windows) and my bedroom "little" HTPC (openelec). I use the same Flirc configuration for both. Flirc sends keyboard commands to the PC it is attached to. So if there is a keyboard command within NextPVR that you use to perform a function, then that is what you want Flirc to use. Since you are talking about "color buttons" I must assume you are trying to use a MCE Remote to train Flirc. I have no idea if that will work or not as again, Flirc emulates a keyboard not another remote control.
I've been using my Flircs for a couple of years now, and they work very well. Hope this helps you.

Simple. In the Flirc control Panel - use full keyboard. Enter the keystroke commands for the function you desire, then press the corresponding color button you wish - and that's it. Works like a charm for me.

Try: Ctrl B

If the keyboard template doesn't work for you virtually any command can be programmed using the "record_API" command in the Flirc. It's a undocumented and a bit difficult to find the info, but this thread has the how-to about half way down.
http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/1...ment-10095 I managed to get my remote set up to use the arrow keys on the bottom to control the mouse along with "mousekeys" setting in windows. Definitely not a full featured mouse but it gets the job done on those rare occasions when you need to move a mouse around. Snag

Thanks, Snag. I will look into that later. Looks interesting. Have to go to bed now. Have to get up early.
I see you are a member of that forum. I have tried to join but the system just does not like my computer. it just will not finish the register process. Same with an attempt to contact someone there of my problem. |
