hysonmb Wrote:I just installed Next PVR today, set up the tuners, and got an error saying that the buffer directory didn't exist.
I changed the buffer location and kept getting the same error.
I restarted the computer which cleared that error and now, as reported by the OP, I get a black screen. I didn't mess with decoders or any settings other than selecting a different location for buffer and recorded TV. The black screen is on startup, there's no menu, no guide, etc. so it's not restricted to just live TV that's not displaying.
I tried uninstalling / reinstalling and it's unchanged but I see that my settings were retained so maybe there's a config file in a directory or registry entry that needs to be cleared?
Are you also using a Ceton tuner? Which cable company are you with?

Can you reproduce the problem, then post your npvr.log?

This is the log.
I have screwed around with the settings since posting the first message while trying to find a solution but nothing had any impact to what I'm seeing/not seeing.

With the LAV filters the streams were sticky and they were not being released. I don't fully understand so I'm an not explaining properly... I don't have any other options for codecs available, can someone suggest? Also, don't know how to do en error log...sorry.

Thanks,
Paul

Is just your MPEG2 video decoder.

What MPEG-2 video decoder options are available on your machine?

"ATI CC multiplexer" certainly doesn't sound like an MPEG2 video decoder. What other options are available on your machine?

These ffmpeg sessions are nothing to do with the video decoder you've got selected in NextPVR. These are processes that Emby has started. They don't do any decoding in NextPVR, so your decoder settings don't matter. You'd need to get the Emby guys to check why these are hanging around.

That is why I switched to the LAV. Will SAF work in win 10? Assuming so...

Should do.

The LAV video decoder doesn't work well with the Microsoft demux, and can misbehave with live TV, so best to stay away from that one.

I have ATI MPEG Multiplexer and AMD Video Decoder.
After messing with some more settings I'm able to get video now! I still don't get a menu when launching the application but I can right click, select live TV or Channels, and it's working.

These are the settings that are working and the blank screen I'm talking about on launch.
