Hi all,

I wish ...... Smile

I have a new program "The Beautiful Lie" (a series) that I would like to record, I have the Channel - 2 ABC, the Date 2015-10-18 but no time.

Is there a way to set up a scheduled recording for the Title, Channel and Date? (I do not want to record a full days programming for that channel) Big Grin
Regards,
Mark

Perhaps, a variation on the theme discussed in the thread at ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post493604

Hi Graham,

I tried to setup a manual recording along the lines of the link and the guide.

It appeared to me that the "Advanced Rules" input area may be a little small (I could not see what I was typing Sad )...

I tried (I think) "title LIKE '%The Beautiful Lie%' AND date(start_time) >= '2015-10-18' and time(start_time,'localtime') > time(19:00:00) AND time(start_time,'localtime') < time(23:59:59)"

This is what I got in the Recurring_recording.match_rules
<Rules><ChannelOID>7161</ChannelOID><ChannelName>ABC</ChannelName><StartTime>2015-10-18T08:00:00.0000000Z</StartTime><EndTime>2015-10-18T13:00:00.0000000Z</EndTime><PrePadding>5</PrePadding><PostPadding>10</PostPadding><Quality>0</Quality><Keep>0</Keep><AdvancedRules>where title like '%The Beautiful Lie%' and start_date >= '2015-10-18 00:00:00' and time(start_time,'localtime') > time('19:00:00') and and time(start_time,localtime') < time('23:59:59)</AdvancedRules></Rules>

I wish there was an easier way (like WindozeMediaCentre) Big Grin

Mark

NextPVR is all about the EPG ... It is designed to do a good job of recording shows that are in the EPG now ... Recording shows that won't be in the EPG until a few weeks from now, not so much!

What does the screen look like in Media Center look like that allows you to enter these four criteria?

With the new "Fall Season" beginning, it's probably a great time to remind people about this thread:
cbgifford Wrote:Season=1 AND Episode = 1 AND first_run = "Y"
Which tells how to create an advanced rule manual recording to record all new show premieres (Season 1, Episode 1). I've been using it for a few months now to catch the premieres of all new shows. Then I can watch it (or just read the description) and, if I'm interested in it, use the Find All option on that recording to select the Episode 2, and schedule a Recurring Recording for that (and all future new episodes). Really works well!

Ideally you just wait for it to show up in your EPG and schedule a normal recurring recording, but if you must set it up now with an Advanced Rules manual recording then all you need is "title like 'The Beautiful Lie'"... the rest of it is irrelevant (unless of course there are a bunch of other shows also called "The Beautiful Lie").

If the show is one thetvdb it is possible to schedule a future show via NEWA via the Searchlite plugin. I never considered making a manual recording.

Hi Sub,

There are 2 main methods, "Wish List or Keyword" and "Channel and Time"
Wish List has 3 searches "Movie Title", Program Title" and "Generic Keyword"
Channel and Time, you specify the Channel, Date, and Time.

To set a recording for "The Beautiful Lie" I would use "Wish List" .... "Program Title" because I do not know the time.

In the 7zip file you find a sequence of screens showing both methods.

I hope these help.

NEWA? :o I have not seen a way to use it. I only use the FTA EPG. It if fairly accurate and I update it daily at 8:00AM

Mark
