Why is post-padding limited to 89 minutes?

For sports events, I like to add time in case the event doesn't end by the scheduled time. With most races, that's 60 minutes. With baseball games, that's typically 90 minutes. If I expect rain during a race, I might want an entire 3 hours.

Unfortunately, NextPVR limits me to a mere 89 minutes. Why?

I thought an hour and a half sounded like plenty. I don't think anyone has ever asked about this limit since NextPVR was created. I could bump it up in the next release though if you'd like.

You can always schedule a manual recording for whatever start/stop time you like in the mean time.

You might also want to check out NextEnd which will monitor many sports events and automatically extend the recording if the event runs late.

How does it know to extend the recording? I question the schedule source would be updated.

If you don't want to be bothered reading record the following shows, multi-rec will let you do that without even using a tuner.

TV Listings let me enter postpadding of 120 minutes and more http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...TVListings
And it did record 120 minutes more :-)

But beware that shows scheduled with TV Listings/Recordings should only be managed with TV Listings. Trying to update a negative padding scheduled recording with TV Guide/Recordings did crash NextPVR in the past.
