DVD Control

When I play a dvd no submenu (through green, red, blue etc, or whatever button on the Hauppauge remote)is available. When I push "menu" I get back in the main menu. I'm using the Scan Skin currently.
It is slightly annoying since I can't get to chosse subtitles.
Of course I can play directly in the X-cards player, but that's no fun.

any suggestions?

The blue key should return you to the DVD menu.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. A lot of my DVD's are copies. Straight autoplay, no DVD menu and 1 language and 1 subtitle only. Nothing to choose from except subs on or off.
With X-Mediaplayer I press subtitle on the remote (X-remote) and with GB-PVR I don't know how to turn on the subtitles, tried every color button on the Hauppauge remote, but maybe that's how it is.
That should teach me not to copy DVD's!

Is there a DVD menu on this disk that lets you select whether sub titles are on or off, or is it a generated menu?

The latter, I think.
I use one of these programs (DVD2ONE is my favourite) they generate a dvd without a root menu and one subtitle language only.
I can toggle that one subtitle of or on with the subtitle button in the X-Card remote but (with a normal dvd you use it to toggle subtitle languages).
