When it comes to recordings, this info comes from your database. So, as long as you had some EPG info about the show you recorded (whether it's from DVB or XMLTV or SchedulesDirect), then it should show.

Here is a show I just recorded from from DVB-T, using the DVB EPG.

Are you sure? - I know you wrote the stuff. On the original Recordings Screen it definitely does but on my system, using the New Metadata Recordings Screen / New Recordings - if there is no <showname>.xml in the Media/Shows Folder then the single show description is empty even if the db has all the info in the events cell.
Also if the <filename>.nfo is not in the <showname> directory then episode description is missing for that episode in a multi episode series.
I spent about a month creating the missing xml and nfo files in Notepad++ back last May when I thought I might like to use the new screens.

The only difference I can find is that there is no .nfo in the recording/ Jekyii & Hyde directory for this week, the previous shows had them.
Does the NPVR metadata grabber make .nfo files? - I was using imagegrablite up to this weekend, as well as the buit in grabber.

Could Archive possibly make it into the top menu sometime in the future? When the hard drive starts to get full of keepers its quite handy to shove a bunch onto the file server.

I just tried to look at this using your previously supplied database. I get a description for all episodes of 'Jekyll and Hyde', but the database you supplied was from before that most recent 6th December recording, so couldn't check that one.

Do all the other episodes have a description showing? You showed at least the 29th November recording does.

Yep all the other episodes have descriptions - and they all have .nfo files. only the last one doesn't have the .nfo and also no description - but it is there in the db as you can see from the New Recordings view.
I think it changed behavior when v3.4.8 was released in April - it was in May that I started making nfo files for all the series episodes that I wanted to keep - and .xml files for all the single shows.

I obviously don't have any nfo files for your recordings, but it's managing to give me the descriptions from the database.

It changed in this release. I explicitly added code to make sure it'd use the descriptions etc from the recordings in the database.

Can you supply a later .db3? I'll check that latest recording too.

Only other relevant info I can think of is the first 3 episodes have been edited in VideoRedo so no embedded metadata, but last 2 are original.
