Auto Archive Recordings?

Is there a way to automatically archive recordings once complete or on a schedule?

The computer I am using has a small internal drive and a microSD slot. Unfortunately, recordings are very choppy when recorded directly to the microSD (SanDisk UHS-1 64GB), but are fine if recorded to the internal drive. Watching the recordings from the SD is fine, the issue is with writing.

I would like the default recording location to be the internal disk, but once the recording is complete, archive it to the SD (or on a schedule instead). Is it possible to access the Archive function via batch script? If not, is it possible to modify the database after moving the files so that the moved/archived recordings do not disappear?

You could roll your own solution using PostProcessing.bat. ie, copy recording to new directory, update database file name with "nscripthelper.exe -rename <oldfile> <newfile>", then delete the original filename.

Thank you. The nscripthelper info is what I needed. I created a PostProcessing.bat that does what you described and it appears to work. I haven't added any sort of error checking or anything fancy into the script, and for my purposes I probably won't need to. Thanks!

Hello Rick

I've got exactly the same question as you, with a 32GB EMMC and as it happens exactly the same SD card. In benchmarking the EMMC writes about twice as fast as the SD, which doesn't sound much, but in terms of real-numbers is a big enough difference to record more reliably to the EMMC.

Do you mind sharing your .bat file please? I might as well start from where you've got to rather than from scratch!

Thanks
