Here is the result of running it. I started NPVR and it runs perfectly. I tried KODI and again lost the client service and froze.

I get. That open socket issue frequently when I stop and restart the service...could never figure it out.... only way to free up the port is to do a restart.

Since u eed to test from a cc9mmand line run 1st set. The service from.automatic. to manual....then do the restart and run from command line.

This error message looks like you didn't stop the recording service before running the command line version of it. It's not going to tell us anything useful, because ther other running recording service will handle the requests.

[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]Ok I gotcha ............. I shut down the recording service, opened it using the command you suggested and NPVR worked perfectly.

AND .............. I OPENED LIVE TV IN KODI AND IT WORKED //////////// PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WELL DONE .............. so where do I go from here to keep it like that?

Because .......... I should have added that when close the CMD screen, and went back to KODI .......... NPVR Client was disconnected again ...... but I am sure you knew that.

That command is just running the recording service in the foreground so we can see if any error messages popup, rather than in the background where we have to rely on the logs. Functionally its the same. So I guess just run it in the command prompt for a while, and see if you get any error messages.

Hmm i totally believe I have this identical issue with tuner no longer available in kodi. just putting this here as a placeholder while I get all the logs and info together. Looking at this persons logs it looks like exact same error as mine.

Just to close the loop on this one, my problem appears to be different and I have actually implemented a no-impact workaround for my issue after a surprise discovery.
There appears to be a bug when multiple channels have same shows and you switch between them. I will report my bug find in a separate thread now, as it is completely different issue then I originally thought we may have shared.

Well, I have been turning it on and off over a period to check if there is any messages and there are not. Every time I run NPVR and Kodi using the cmd it is perfect. I can view NPVR on its own, or I can view Live TV in Kodi with out having the client shut down issue. When I shut down the PC and start again, without running the cmd, I have the original issue. So I suppose my question now is, how can we run then without having to go through that command process each time. I tried my skills at running a "Batch" program to start them up, but failed on that one.

What do you mean "each time"? I'm not suggesting your do that each time you want to watch live tv in Kodi. Just start it in a command prompt, and leave it running that way until you get the error.

If you don't get an error when running in it in a command prompt, then look into stuff things like firewall / antivirus etc that might be causing differences when it runs under a different user account (ie, running in the background as a service).
