Hi I am missing several (although not all) HD DVB-T2 channels broadcasting on the UK Pontop Pike transmitter. I have read some forum posts with varying advice - and they all seem to get lost in debates about signal strength, splitters and so on. However this makes no sense to me, as Windows Media Centre picks these channels up without difficulty, as does MediaPortal, as does my TV's native tuner. Neither of these are workable for me, as first my reliance on WMC is preventing me from upgrading to Windows 10 and second MediaPortal is just not as good/fast as NPVR.

I have checked the box that says 'scan for offsets' and have attached all logs as advised.

The tuning file for Pontop Pike might be out of date. Do a scan for United Kingdom - All Regions, then post your logs...

Or you could unzip the attached into your data\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-T folder and try the scan for Pontop Pike again - let me know if it's OK and I'll get it included in the master files.

That worked (doing a full scan), but unfortunately the app simply doesn't seem to be very stable/usable. I get frequent lock-ups and blank screens and long delays, particularly when flipping channels. Which is a shame, as I prefer the interface to WMC and I haven't found an app yet that will allow me to ditch this and upgrade to Windows 10.

You may get a better result with an optimal set of decoders.

Many of us SAF to install a set of decoders (and other utilities) that work well in all circumstance ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post414049

Send a forum private message to Hoborg asking for the "unlocked" version that includes the "best" decoders.

May be due to the decoders you are using.

You should definitely set your video render to EVR and make sure your audio render is set to Default - then try playing with your other decoder settings...

I have messaged SAF. The logs show I have been playing with the decoders to try to overcome the problem. No luck so far though. Can anyone in the UK recommend decoder settings that work?

If you're on Windows 7, then you can't really go wrong with the Microsoft decoder for both mpeg2 and h264. For Windows 8/10 you'll need a different one for mpeg2 (I use the Cyberlink one). For audio, LAV is ideal for everything.

I use C/link (from SAF) for all video and LAV (from SAF) for all audio. Plus EVR for video renderer and default for audio renderer. This is on Windows 10.
