Format of Country-Region scan files.

My first post here ... just installed NextPVR, and so far it's not too difficult.

My country-region is Australia-Townsville. A scan of my DVB-T card (Asus U3100) failed to pickup two stations. I checked the Australia-Townsville.ini file for tuning frequencies, and they're out of date

Australia-Townsville.ini should now look like this (at 12-Jan-2016):

0=5

My question is what is the meaning of the "0=5" line? (Other than it's mathematically incorrect.)
Is five stations the allowable limit.? I am in the process of creating a correct channels.xml for this area.

The 0 is just a line number
the 5 is the number of entries following.

For the avoidance of doubt ... There is no known limit ... Some transmitter in the UK use eight (or more) frequencies. I expect that you already have it straight but, just in case, the values in the .ini are frequencies (also referred to as muxes) and each mux can have multiple channels (or stations).

Yes, I'm new to NextPVR, but not to DVB-T.

With auto scanning some of my channel numbers are mixed up, and dont match the TV allocations here. The stream IDs are correct, but a few channel numbers are wrong. For example, Seven should be selected by channel number 7, or 71. It winds up being 14 and 15, respectively. (Most channel numbers are correct, though.) We should be able to select the principle program of a station with a single digit. Other program streams need two digits: e.g. ABC2 is channel 22. The main ABC program is 2 (or 21).

There's a parameter in the config.xml called something like <ScanDropTime> which controls how long it sits and "listens" to the broadcast to find things like channel numbers. I've seen suggestions to increase it to 3000 and then scan again.

As to the line 0=5 in the tuning file, yes, the second number is the number of tuning lines to follow... I dunno why it needs that, but it does.

This number is not used. It's there for historic reasons.
