Well it seems to be working with animation off. Even if it wasn't, it's cosmetic so don't lose any sleep over it. I'm sure there are bigger bugs to fry. If you remember what it was back then, we can revisit and see what you can come up with. I just thought it was strange and maybe you didn't know about it (and would want to). I'll keep an eye on it. When I'm bored, I'll turn animation back on and see if I can find any more clues as to what's going on. Bugs are tough to figure out, and doubly so when you can't reproduce them. Damn things are usually easy to fix once you understand what's going on though... :/

Thanks.

Played a little more tonight...er...this morning. Upgraded the video drivers and no change. Playing a recording seems to be the only trigger for it that I can find. I can turn animation off and back on again without relaunch and it doesn't reset whatever is going on. Relaunch does. Seems to be real consistent.

When I use the Air Mouse remote side (not the keyboard), I push it's "Back" button (right mouse), it puts me up to the "Menu" at the top of the screen. From the Guide, if I push "Back", it flashes the menu directly on the left and then it vanishes. If I push the "Back" button quickly twice, the menu stays open. It's very repeatable.

FYI, I'm considering dropping support for XP in the next release. It's a long time back now, and holding me back from upgrading to some newer development tools.

Alright about the XP support (was shocked it worked at all, probably just tell him to start using the original one that records at 60FPS in some weird mpeg format nothing can read but it). But with the GUI up and the settings open, that crash comes up, but if I don't close it, I can keep going through the settings just fine As for the 'view contents of the error report', just gives you a ton of text about all the modules and data, not something that can easily be copied/pasted in and from you thinking of dropping XP support, may not be worth bothering with as it could be a .net issue in XP that's hitting it. I'll get it to crash again this upcoming Wednesday when I'm back there and see if the logs have anything to mention.

I'm not sure this is at all XP related, since we don't have any other XP users reporting this.

Is live tv running when you're in the Settings screen and this crash happens? or are you in any particular settings screen? There must be some pattern to it (more than just being in the Settings screen).

Have you got a phone where you can record a video of it happening, so I can see it? I've been trying to reproduce this, but I'm not seeing it (even set right mouse to do 'back', so I could click/double-click quicker).

Yes, I can, easily. I'll have to have someone else hold it while I do so, but yes, I can. Hmm, wonder if fraps would work in this instance, then again, adding it to the machine may make it misbehave more. I'll just record it with a tablet. Fought with it earlier.

Actually, initial setup, as in scanning channels, it crashes when I have the settings open from start. Not in live, just at the menu, basically the way it first starts after installation, hop into settings, go around and do things, and that crash comes up, *but* if I don't close that window, I can continue to do everything inside the settings and hit Ok on it and it's done. If I hit close, then the entire program dies a nasty M$ death as per usual, or I can actually close it. Only thing I can think of, is it's a thread that's not on the main GUI that's failing for some reason, perhaps a codec issue as it's scanning them? Only thing I can think of.

Are you actually scanning when you get this crash?

You'll need to narrow it down. How quick does it crash when you view the settings screen? Is it only after you visit a particular tab? ie, if you just open the Settings screen (on the default 'About' screen) and press ok, does it crash? If you do the same with 'General', does it crash? etc.
