Seems to be? This is from Videos in Windows with Debug on.

Could you play the same file now in x-newa?

Martin sorry, by anything I meant no messages about cuts. It did show an overlay.

Will have to come back to this tomorrow (today)... desperately tired.

btw - if I download a newer ffmpeg - where does it go in Kodi?

Code:
02:10:29 T:7620   DEBUG: ffmpeg[1DC4]: [mpegts] DVB subtitles with multiple languages is not implemented. Update your FFmpeg version to the newest one from Git. If the problem still occurs, it means that your file has a feature which has not been implemented.
02:10:29 T:7620   DEBUG: ffmpeg[1DC4]: [mpegts] If you want to help, upload a sample of this file to ftp://upload.ffmpeg.org/incoming/ and contact the ffmpeg-devel mailing list. (ffmpeg-devel@ffmpeg.org)

Well, that appears to be reading the .edl file. However, I notice that it also seems to be thinking that the .txt file (the old Comskip format file?) is a subtitle file. I don't know if that would be causing your problem(s) or not, but there seem to be several errors in the logfile relating to subtitle problems. If it is indeed an old-style Comskip file, I would suggest deleting (or renaming) it. Also, it's finding a .zip file which it appears to be looking in also. Again, deleting (or renaming) it, would probably also help.

In Kodi videos it shows the file name; that's it.

This seems very strange to me. In kodi on the RPi, I get a display like this:

I guess the question now is does it skip the commercials in Ghost. The logs should show it.

Hi, had a good sleep and now I would like to report some measure of success :-); and a new problem :-(

On the principle that that the "c" overlay settings must somehow exist, I conducted the tried and trusted method of bashing every key on the keyboard, starting from Q, to see whether I could bring up what BrettB sees (some interesting shortcuts there...).

I didn't have to wait too long, because when I got to "O", lo and behold, there was the screen that BrettB was referring to, which you will see below in all its glory, showing "b12s23" (the text on top is due to the Debugging Screen), for the PC. It shows 12 breaks (skips), 23 scenes. Cool!

A. This edl: showing "b12s23" works on the PC both in Kodi and X-Newa.
B. It works in Kodi (native) on the RPi2, from Videos.
C. However it does not work on the RPi2, in X-Newa Mode.

The screenshots hopefully show

i. What I see when I press "C" (as opposed to "O")
ii. Overlays from various trials with "O" Pressed:
a on the PC using Kodi Native = OK
b on the PC using X-Newa - OK
c on the RPi2 using Kodi Native - OK [Sorry I lost this pic] - Will supply when I get RPi2 working again.
d on the RPi2 using X-Newa - NG

I was hoping to have logs for each run, however Openelec updated to 6.0.1 automatically and I am not sure if it is the cause, but when I went to trial it after it HAD played (a-d above), all I got was audio and no video :-(. I have already bought both codecs, set config with those, I really have no idea whether I changed a setting or whether it was the update. Very frustrating.

So I haven't been able to check whether removing the zip file helps or not yet (BrettB yes there is one in the show "Ghost" directory, my mistake. I took it out. I am not sure whether to remove the .txt as well though, I thought the PCH used that - still using the PCH).

I attach logs from

I. X-NewaKodiPC.zip (from run ii(b)) above. edl cuts are shown.
II. KodiRPiAudionoVideo.zip after it failed to show any Video on the Pi.

Questions

Q1. The debugging screen settings show only one option (Video) checked. I assume I don't need others ?
Q3. When Kodi starts the TV input (not from RPi2) shows "DVD 720", DVD being what I called that HDMI input source and 720 (no idea) ... I assume that is only the Interface Screen Input, the show still plays at 1080p?
Q3. ffmpeg; it keeps showing some failure in the log. It seems due to licencing issues you have to compile it - that is beyond my capabilities unless there are some clear instructions somewhere for doing this on an RPi2 with Openelec?
Q4. Any ideas why I cannot now see Video from the RPi2 as input to the TV?

Thanks again for all the help, from all of you. You've been very very patient :-).
I hope the logs and screen-caps show what you need.

k.
