I'm currently evaluating NextPVR 3.6.6 as a TV server in combination with Kodi 15.2 via the Kodi Addon NextPVR PVR Client v1.10.8 by Graeme Blackley on a Win7 system.

So far it works well. However, I can't manage to get the padding times set in Kodi for TV recordings. I've set the pre- and post-padding times in NextPVR to 0 minutes. Whatever padding time I set in Kodi when configuring a recording timer, the recording always starts and ends at the exact start and end time of the show (0 min padding). The padding times I set in Kodi seem to be ignored.

Any ideas?

When you set a recording in Kodi, then edit the recording in NextPVR itself, do you see the padding times you set?

Padding is considered "optional but nice to have". These don't adjust the real start and end times for a recording, but it will start recording pre-padding minutes early if a free tuner is available, and stop post-padding minutes late if a free tuner is available. If you've got other recordings (or live tv) needing the tuner, then padding wont happen.

The recording will be listed with the real start/stop times, and don't reflects the padding that may or may not happen.

Thanks for your reply. However, I'm not sure if I fully understood your answer. I did not edit a scheduled recording in NextPVR as well as in Kodi.

My intention is to only edit the padding times for each individual recording in Kodi. Therefore I configured in "NextPVR - Settings - Recording" the default pre-padding mins and the default post padding mins to 0 (zero).

When I now schedule a recording in Kodi I get a dialog where I can edit pre and post-padding times for this specific recording. But whatever I enter into these input fields is not recognized by the recording i.e. the recording always starts 0 mins before and ends 0 mins after the scheduled time.

Why are the Kodi times ignored?

The suggestion was that you set pre/post padding on a recording in Kodi, then check the same recording in NextPVR to see if the paddings are still there...

Yeah, I was just trying to take kodi out of the mix, to see if you're seeing the same problem in NextPVR itself. ie, this helps us understand if you're talking about a problem in NextPVR or the Kodi NextPVR addon.

Just about anytime you ask about a problem in Kodi, I'm gonna ask you to reproduce it in the NextPVR UI.
