New to NextPVR and I actually have it up and running on my Windows 7 x64 machine

Machine is Intel NUC D34010WYKH1 i3 processors
8 GB of System RAM
Samsung 850 EVO mSATA 500GB SSD
2 each WinTV-dualHD USB TV Tuners (4 tuners total)

I am trying to find if NextPVR will support this configuration?

I can record one channel and watch another, but I never see the other tuner light up or activate itself

The goal is to be able to record 3 programs while watching a forth.

Any assistance on tuning to make this possibly work would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

My experience has been that NextPVR can handle multiple tuners and I have certainly used a pair of USB devices simultaneously. The only issue I have run into is when the USB device's drivers don't work with more than one connected USB (or PCIe) device of the same model connected at the same time.

So, what I'm saying is that the limitation is not with NextPVR, but badly written drivers that prevent both devices working at the same time. I'm not familiar with the WinTV-dualHD USB tuners, but I would suggest you contact their tech support people and find out if two devices are supported on a single PC.

Good luck!

Bill.

Thanks, I will do that and post any appropriate information regarding tuner setup and configuration.

Theree is no reason you shouldn't able to use two of these WinTV-dualHD, assuming the drivers support it.

Can you please share the details of the hardware of your DVR?
Which controller or processor does it uses?
Also what is the system to connect the Tuner with USB to it?

NextPVR should function well on any computer built in the last ten years or so. Typically, the input is digital (e.g. from an over-the-air broadcast received via an antenna) and NextPVR copies the digital stream to disk as a recording file. My own experience is that I have been able to record ten simultaneous programs. The implementation of USB varies hugely from one device to another and it is not possible to be sure about the capacity of a computer. I would expect four or six USB tuners to work well with NextPVR.

Its seems that only one tuner retrieves EPG data.
I have two PCTV 72e, I have two frequencies with total 2+4 channels. I can record on both frequencies. The computer I use is extremely low end; Packard Bell Dot SE-233NC, so the quality is poor with more than 3 recordings simultaneously.
I need to have a separate card per frequency, if not, there will be two recordings of the same show. Then instead, I have an EPG problem, as it seems that only one card retreieves EPG data. For one frequency EPG will be empty.

It will work fine for recording 3 programs. I use the same tuner setup with the same tuners you listed. NextPVR using multi record so you might only be using 1 or 2 tuners even when recording 3 programs and watching a 4th. Channels that share the same frequency can record or be watched on a single tuner. You can find out what channels have what frequency by going to 'settings' and then 'channels' then selecting 'details'. For example I have Frontier in Tampa and my ABC and NBC channels can record on the same tuner at the same time (as well as any subchannels like MeTV). My CW and Fox channels share a tuner. My CBS and PBS channels share a tuner. Basically I can record or watch all 5 major networks with just 3 tuners.

Edit: I forgot to mention that you can monitor the recording status by right clicking on the NextPVR system icon and selecting 'show status'. This will show you which tuners are recording or watching what. I use TeamViewer (it's free) to monitor the PVR computer.
