X-NEWA 2.4.8 Release candidate

It's hard to describe, but there is a little section on the right of the screen that is fine, but most of the screen is black like there is a black/gray overlay on top of the screen

I have seen those pixel remnants on the right of the screen going back the MVP and NMT but I stopped asking sub about it. I did see it too during the beta cycel. If you could save some of the jpg images before they are deleted to show it is server side problem and not just rendering that would help. I don't have a working backend at the moment.

I should be able to get .jpg files. I presume that you mean from the /storage/.kodi/temp/x-newa directory, right?

OK, I did some more testing and got .jpg files and a corresponding webclient.log file (attached). I now think that there are 2 problems:

One is that when NextPVR is displaying the "Blank" screensaver, it isn't completely covering the screen. That is what leaves the pixels on the right side (and also along the bottom of the screen). There are several example .jpg files showing these "Blank" popups. (For me, the kodi screensaver has already kicked in and dimmed the screen so the extra displayed pixels are not very visible.)

The other problem is that when the kodi screensaver is deactivated, X-NEWA isn't passing along the request to NextPVR for it to deactivate its screensaver (the "Blank" popup which isn't covering the entire screen). (The kodi screensaver/dimming turns off and the display goes back to full brightness which makes the extra pixels from the NextPVR "Blank" screensaver more visible.) The user then has to press a remote button a 2nd time to deactivate the NextPVR screensaver and get the normal image back on the screen.

Yes problem 1 is what I reported. To avoid problem 2 you need to turn off the NextPVR screen saver and just use Kodi's.

Unless there is a new repository, it seems that 2.4.8 was never released with this change (it shows 2.4.7 as the latest for me)?

You are right I probably forgot to update it. I don't think too much has changed for 3.7 so I see what I can do.

I cranked my RPi2 last night to watch some vids and X-NEWA Add-on updated automatically presumably to 2.4.8. What it seems to have stopped doing is automatically going into NextPVRl sites at the XBMC screen only. I can go into Programs and load it OK. Could the 2.4..8 update have done something to auto-load (the Settings do show Auto-load, Blue dot).

I don't use this but yes you likely will need to update addon.xml after each update from the repo.
