Try editing config.xml and setting
<AutoDetectEncoderMethod>1</AutoDetectEncoderMethod>

I made this change and it looked like it work but it did not. When I do a quick record it works or a recode by season but all my recording are setup trough xrecord scheduling to record all with out duplicates. Those will not record at all. I get a failed on every one. I thought that maybe the database was corrupted so I deleted all my pending and ran CDK to regenerate them and no luck. What can I do next? I also uninstalled v0.93.10 and installed version v0.93.10 b this did not help.

hey sub, have you activated the aspect-ratio-feature for overlay mode? was playing with the new release and while playing an xvid-movie it was stretched. i deactivated aspect ratio-correction in ffdshow and it displayed correctly...

any other changes in overlay mode? teletext or something ;-)?

No, I havnt made any changes to overlay in this release.

I cant help you with xrecord, I dont know anything about it.

I also uninstalled v0.93.10 and installed version v0.93.10 b this did not help.

These versions are exactly the same except for a small change to the way the installer works.

My 09310 install is only recording the first movie of each 'restart'.
The first movie records fine but subsequent recordings are all 0-byte files
The recording service log shows that the second recording starts. But that's it. This lack of info is probably due to my old config settings to workaround the logging bug.

I've had the above problem with both auto encoder method 1 and 2.

To check that it is not something else, I am going back to 09211 to see if it has the same problem. Will keep u informed

I had the exact same problem after every standby or hibernate. I tried every combination of mux/decoder you can think of withouit success, yet after a reboot everything behaved beautifully. I'm running a dual DVB T setup and it turned out that one of the cards (Nebula) wasn't initializing after a standby/restart. It's probably a driver issue but as Nebula only have one BDA driver available I had no other versions to test. Luckily I have a few different cards form old projects so I just swapped it out and everything works perfectly now. I don't know which card you are using but see if there are different drivers to try.

you can force a restart of the tv tuner card with "devcon" (a free tool from MS) in combination with gbpvrwake/wake.cmd.

it is about the tv out of the pvr-350 which did not work anymore after hibernation, but the the solution is the same: restart the card with devcon.

well.. i think i have finally solved the darn problem !
Its coz i was manually fiddling with my mux/etc filters when i couldn't get the old 09310 install to run on my PC
damn it.. must have stuffed up something somewhere somehow..

anyway, i reinstalled my filters now... uninstalled gbpvr and then reinstalled with the new 09310 install.. and things are looking good so far...

Sub: i had the same pb with the 09211 install.. so that's why i figured out that it was most probably not a gbpvr issue.. thanks anyway !

sigh... well.. it was recording fine last night.. but this morning, when i did a check, it looks like the recording service died (somehow) after coming out of hibernation to record a morning show

anyway, i've reset the pc - hibernated it - will check the result of the afternoon recording tonight.

i puzzled coz the only change i've done are the 1) filters (2) gbpvr 09310 install
In the past, i've had no problems with recording at all (hibernate or not)...

Sub, i've set logging to debug level. Will send you the logs when the problem happens again. i still wonder if its some stupid change i did - but either don't remember or didn't realise...
anyway, sorry for the bother..
